Business Marketing in the Internet Age (And other less practical philosophical meanderings)

In an age where ‘word of mouth’ has become a ‘thumbs up’ or selection of stars, the way we think about promoting our businesses have changed. Unless you still open that dictionary-sized directory to find a good plumber or auto repair shop, you’ve come to realize the importance of being seen online.  But what does that mean, how can you take advantage of this new technology without being taken advantage of by agencies that want to make money off you rather than with you. This talk will cover the basics of web presence, online advertising, social media, digital communication and the importance of mobile, sprinkled in with philosophical thoughts about our society in an attempt to spark conversations that matter.
